Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Bauer Products' manger door lock for horse trailers in the matte black finish. Now this part here will upgrade your original feed or manger door latch on your horse trailer to this nice durable locking latch. This lock will let you secure that door on your horse trailer. It is a nice sturdy glass reinforced nylon and zinc construction.
As we mentioned, it has a nice matte black color to it. And it is designed to fit into a standard cutout measuring 2-3/4" by 3-3/4". Does include everything shown here on the table, the lock itself, the two keys, the Stryker plate with the hardware and the door edge plate. A few specs from this, the overall dimension, if we measure from here to here is gonna be right at 4-7/8". The heighth on it will be right at 4-1/2".
and the overall width on it is gonna be right at about 1-3/4". And then again, just to show you the handle, you just pull on it to unlock it and then you use your key to lock it. All you have to do is put your key right in there, just like that. And then if you turn it a quarter of a turn, you can see that when you go to try to open it and take the key out if here, and now it's locked in place. And then to open it, just go ahead and put your key right back in, turn it back and then you can see that opens it.
Simple as could be. And again, it does come with two keys. But that should do it for the review on this Bauer Products' manger door lock for your horse trailers in the matte black finish.
The new latch/lock is an exact fit to replace the old ones (we had no keys for the old ones). Very easy job to replace. The old version (guessing 20 years old, the trailer is around 2007?) had a cast aluminium “back plate” , the new version has plastic back plate. Much cheaper. I chose to use the old alum back plate rather than the new ones. The entire job (2 locks) took 10 minutes. Very happy with the parts and service from trailer.com
Door latch was an exact fit on my Sun Downer horse trailer's stall windows and only took 15 min.to change out the original to the new!
Made on the cheaper side with plastic but was a direct replacement for my old latch ..
Great customer service, fair prices and quick shipping. Ty

I am glad to hear it was a directly replacement for your original, I bet that made the installation easier. It looks great on the trailer too! What kind of trailer did you replace them on?
